VASCULAR & VEINS
Laser treatments are now a routine procedure for the removal of many types of vascular lesions, including hemangiomas, vascular malformations ( types of birthmarks ) and telangiectasias, broken capillaries (commonly known as “spider veins”) which are dilated or broken blood vessels located near the surface of the skin or mucous membranes. They often appear as fine pink or red lines, and occur in patches on the legs and face.
THE PERFECT VASCULAR & VEIN SOLUTION
Long-pulse Nd:YAG lasers offer the perfect solution for treating vascular lesions and spider veins. The targeted chromophore for vascular lesions is intravascular oxyhemoglobin; thus, thermal damage is largely restricted to cutaneous blood vessels. The energy from the laser is absorbed by the blood in the vein, converted into heat, and the vein walls are subsequently destroyed. In comparison with other wavelengths, which mainly affect the surface layers of a lesion, Nd:YAG light also targets the underlying vascular feeding system, which is important for ensuring the long-term efficacy the treatment. This process is perfectly safe as other healthy veins supply blood to the treated area and the body’s immune system clears away the dead tissue just as with a bruise. Treatments are Safe, Minimally invasive, Requires no downtime, Greater patient satisfaction.

FAQ’S ABOUT VASCULAR & VEINS
Types of Veins We Can Treat with the Fotana SP Dynamis:
Class 1: Red venectasia up to 0.5 mm in diameter
Class 2: Blue Venules 0.5 -1.5 mm in diameter
Class 3: Reticular Veins 1.5-3.0 mm in diameter
How many treatments will I need?
Results can be seen in as little as 1 treatment. Some veins and vascular lesions do require a series of treatments 4-6 weeks apart. We will assess the results of the treatment 3 months after the final treatment session has been completed.
Is there any downtime?
Following a spider vein laser treatment, you may experience redness, some flaking and peeling, slight bruising, and/or swelling. We will provide you with full after care instructions after your treatment.
Why Fotona Nd: YAG laser?
The Fotona SP Dynamis Laser System is among the most advanced technological options available for spider veins and vascular removal. Fotona Nd:YAG lasers are equipped with VSP (Variable Square Pulse) technology, enabling laser energy to penetrate deeply into the skin to create thermal effects without damaging the skin surface. Compared to conventional Nd:YAG technologies, Fotona’s proprietary VSP pulses create virtually instantaneous temperature increases that are limited to the targeted structures only; no unnecessary energy is deposited into the skin.
