DELUXE IPL PIGMENT TREATMENT
Pigmentation is a common skin concern (also known as sun spots or age spots). Pigmentation refers to the dark patches that appear on your face and hands when there is a spike in melanin, the cells responsible for giving your skin its colour. Lasers are simple, fast, effective, safe tools for removing liver spots, age spots, brown spots, sun spots, sun damage, skin discolouration, and freckles..
HOW IT’S TREATED
A combination of IPL (Intense Pulsed Light ) and The Fotona Nd: YAG laser is used to treat freckles and pigmentation from the inside out. The laser is passed over the skin to destroy damaged, pigmented skin cells. The lasers destroy the cells by being attracted to the colour of the pigment in the skin and works to bring this pigment to the surface of the skin to be removed. Treatment takes approx 30 min to complete. No downtime. For best results, we suggest a minimum of 3 treatments.
Our care team will assist you with a personalized treatment plan to help you achieve your skincare goals.

FAQ’S ABOUT PIGMENT TREATMENTS
What causes pigment or sun damage?
Pigment, sun damage, brown spots, and age spots develop from an excessive concentration of melanin in the skin. Melanin is what gives our skin its colour. Everyone’s skin has a different amount of melanin. Various factors can cause high melanin concentrations. Some concentrations are present at birth, but most occur with age or, most commonly, from overexposure to the sun’s damaging rays. Your Skin Care Technician will evaluate your skin and determine the best treatment for your skin’s pigmentation.
*Individual results may vary.
What type of pigmented removal can be treated with laser?
The most commonly treated conditions are age spots, liver spots, and sunspots. These lesions are due to excess pigment in the skin, often from sunlight exposure and genetic factors. Age spots may appear as enlarged light freckles on the face and hands.
*Individual results may vary.
When will I see results?
Sun damage pigment will lighten and possibly be removed from the skin’s surface in as little as one treatment. Most people need three treatments to see pigment lightened to their satisfaction. If the skin is unprotected and exposed to the sun, there is a chance pigment will reappear. New sun damage, freckles, and spots still can occur in the future.
*Individual results may vary.
How many treatments are required?
Most people see results after three treatments, but some people may need more. Some individual spots may need more attention than the full face. These areas can be treated on their own.
*Individual results may vary.
Is the procedure painful?
With minimal discomfort, laser skin rejuvenation treatments can be performed on any facial area – around the eyes, mouth, cheeks, chin. A topical anesthetic cream can be used on extra sensitive areas, but no injections are needed.
*Individual results may vary.
Who are the best candidates for this treatment?
With the ND:Yag combination, we can now treat most skin types, including up to skin type 5.
*Individual results may vary.
How long do treatments take?
Treatments can last anywhere from 20-40 minutes. This may vary from client to client. Makeup can be applied immediately after the treatment.
*Individual results may vary.
Are there any risks with skin rejuvenation?
Advanced light systems have been used safely for millions of treatments worldwide. As we target pigmented areas, the remainder of the skin is usually untouched or lightly treated. In rare instances, bruising, blistering, scarring, and hyper or hypopigmentation can occur. The vast majority of our patients experience little to no adverse reactions. *Individual results may vary
