HOW DOES IT WORK
SmoothEye treatments use Fotona’s unique ‘Smooth mode’ laser system to gently heat the skin around the delicate eye area. This works to stimulate collagen production, which, in time, works to smooth and revitalise the eye’s appearance. In addition, this process tightens existing collagen and elastin fibres to tighten the skin surrounding the eyes immediately. The skin around the eyes starts to look tighter a few days later and continues to improve over several weeks. SmoothEye™ treatment is best done once a month for 3-5 sessions to achieve optimal results.

How Does this Treatment Work?
Fotona’s revolutionary non-ablative Fotona SMOOTH® mode treats the skin in a smooth, almost “feather-like” non-ablative manner, without bleeding and with precisely controlled temperature deposition. The optical energy is delivered in a unique, sub-second long pulse sequence which prevents temperature build-up at the surface and achieves homogeneous heating within several hundred micrometers of the tissue.
Fotona SMOOTH® mode is ideal for skin tightening. The intense, controlled surface tissue heating stimulates collagen remodeling and initiates neocollagenesis. The result is an overall improvement of wrinkles, laxity and elasticity in the treatment areas around the eyes.

How Long Will the Treatment Last?
Results will vary from patient to patient, many experience a noticeable improvement immediately after treatment, as existing collagen tightens. However, as collagen production continues to build in the following months, you will likely see the full effects of your treatment within two to three months. Clients may choose to have a ‘top up’ maintenance treatment approximately every 12-18 months.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?
To achieve the best results, we usually recommend around three treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. To maintain this, we often suggest annual follow-up treatments approximately every 12-18 months.

Fotona Smootheye Recovery Time?
There is zero downtime required after a Fotona SmoothEye treatment, you are free to resume your daily activities immediately. However, you may experience some slight redness, swelling and flaking in the eye area: this is normal and should resolve within a few days. Following your Fotona SmoothEye treatment, you should avoid heat exposure for two days. Strict sun care is a must during this time, so we suggest applying an SPF to the treated area daily.
