SKIN RESURFACING – ACNE SCARS
At Longevity Medical Aesthetics we have powerful laser technology for the treatment of difficult skin problems such as stretch marks, and scarring (acne scars, burns, trauma, surgery and other lacerations). Often known as ‘dot therapy’ or ‘fractional laser’ these are the most recent advances in skin resurfacing.
HOW IT WORKS
The MiXto SX® is the latest technology in laser skin resurfacing which can be used on all skin types for laser treatments. The MiXto CO2 Laser treats the face, neck, chest, hands. By combining the wavelength for skin renewal procedures with a high-speed scanner, the MiXto SX® was “born”. We believe this is a truly revolutionary product in the medical laser world. Using a specific pattern, the MiXto SX® delivers a precise matrix of Microspots that penetrate the skin. At the same time, shrinkage of damaged tissue is often seen.
Venus Legacy™ treatments are non-invasive and painless, with many patients comparing the treatment to a hot-stone massage! Treatments take approximately 30-40mins depending on the area. A minimum of 6 treatments for the face, 8 on the neck and 10 on the body.

FAQ’S ABOUT SKIN RESURFACING
Why choose laser skin resurfacing?
Laser skin resurfacing offers patients many benefits. The procedure is non-invasive, provides consistent results, and offers the surgeon precise control. It’s faster recovery time means that it can also delay or eliminate the need for more invasive face-lift surgery.
What areas can be treated?
All skin areas can be treated. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest and hands.
What will happen during the procedure?
We will apply a topical anesthetic and often a small oral sedative will be included. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. A laser beam will be delivered through a computer-controlled device that automatically scans the area of your skin being treated. The laser then gently removes the outer skin cells. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated and the depth of your peel.
What aftercare will I need?
It is important to follow all instructions given to you by the doctor. You will be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. This will minimize your risk for infection and ensure the shortest healing time. The top layer of your skin will re-grow and you can use make-up in about one week. Your new skin will be very sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid sun exposure until fully healed. You need to cover your skin, wear a hat and use a good sun screen if you have to go outdoors.
