FOTONA ERBIUM™ FRACTIONAL RESURFACING

The Fotona Erbium Laser performs in fully ablative mode or a fractional laser resurfacing mode for skin rejuvenation and scar treatments. Laser energy is discharged to the epidermal layers of the skin across the treatment area. The detailed settings of the Fotona laser allows targeting of the focused areas, while the surrounding tissue cells remain untouched. The treatment encourage the body’s wound healing response to stimulate fibroblasts and activate production of new collagen, and is effective in treating many types of skin concerns.

HOW DOES IT WORK

The process begins with a comprehensive consultation led by our expert Medical Aesthetician. During this consultation, your medical history is carefully reviewed, your skin is thoroughly examined, and your concerns are heard. This crucial step determines your suitability for erbium laser resurfacing for skin rejuvenation or scar revision. Subsequently, if deemed suitable, a customized treatment plan to enhance your skin is created.

When it comes to addressing problematic acne scarring, the Fotona Erbium laser with its Er: YAG wavelength shines. This laser is an ideal choice for ablative scar revision, as it can safely and effectively achieve the desired depth for resurfacing scarred skin, ultimately improving skin texture and tone. Unlike traditional methods like chemical peels and dermabrasion, this laser’s precision allows for controlled penetration depth. It delicately vaporizes micron-thin layers of scarred skin, revealing the healthy, undamaged skin underneath. HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?

3 treatments are recommended for best results to be seen. Some clients do need more than 3 treatments for deep scars.

HOW FAR APART ARE TREATMENTS SCHEDULED?

Treatments are booked at least 4 weeks apart. This timeline is important to allow the skin to heal in between appointments.

IS THERE DOWNTIME?

The Erbium Fractional Resurfacing does have some downtime. Clients will leave with red, irritated skin that will feel hot for about 24 hours. The redness and healing process can last on average 5-7* days, but reduces each days. *Downtime does vary per client
